Not too late for 2015 discounts

As our regular customers know, we give 10% discounts all year to customers who rented from us in the previous year.

If you have not yet rented from us this year, it's not too late to get on the discount list for 2015! Make a reservation for any item and you will receive a coupon code to use for as many rentals as you want in 2015.

We must receive your paid reservation before the end of this year!

Lens Rentals For Christmas

We still have lenses available and can still make deliveries in time for Christmas. If you are the designated photographer among your family and friends for holiday pictures you MUST use a f/2.8 or faster lens! No excuses for using the f/3.5 - 5.6 kit lens that came with your camera for such important photos!

December Is The Busiest Month For Canada Post

December is the busiest month for Canada Post and is also when our Canadian winter weather starts to test us. If you are wanting to rent a camera or lens for the holidays, (and we recommend that you do!) reserve early to help us plan shipping early!

Rental Extensions

Many of our customers ask to extend their rentals. We will always try to accommodate these requests, which are easier to organize in the Fall and Winter months compared to the crazy Summer!

To request a rental extension, just write or call before your current rental is due to end. Extra days can be added at the daily rate fee.

Microstock Photography

Are you a wedding photographer looking for an income source in the Winter season? Maybe you're wanting a way to earn some dollars from your photography hobby. Consider selling microstock photography. For example, in their November newsletter, iStock Photo wrote they have a need for more holiday imagery, especially of food and dinner settings.

Lens Lenders has gear to help! We have high megapixel, full-frame cameras, macro and wide-aperture lenses plus speedlight and studio strobes for rent.

Will Your Lens Arrive?

Sometimes, we are asked when a lens will arrive to a distant city if ordered on a certain day.

All of our rentals are based on scheduled reservations. Lens Lenders has one of the most sophisticated lens rental websites in Canada. It is able to track the schedules of every item in our inventory and provide rental availability based on your postal code. If you request a rental period and the website says that it is possible, that means we can get a lens to you for the term you need.

You don't need to think about shipping time; we do all the calculating for you!

We ship lens rentals to every Canadian province and territory. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Share About Lens Lenders To Help Grow Lens Lenders

We get many, many requests for lenses and gear that we don't yet have. The suggestions are very helpful during the times that we have "extra money" to add something new to our catalogue.

In addition to telling us what new lenses you would like to rent, you can help us by sharing news about Lens Lenders with others. With the recent CASL law it has become even more difficult for all Canadian businesses - small businesses especially - to do electronic marketing. We can't so much as send a "check us out!" e-mail to someone we met at a tradeshow without facing a fine of up to $10 million.

Increasingly, we need our customers and soon-to-be customers to do the social media sharing thing and tell other photographers about Lens Lenders. If you use Facebook, "like" our Facebook page. If you rent a lens and are a Twitter user, tweet about it. If you read a post on a forum asking for "where to rent" advice, tell them about us and post our web address for others to find us too.

We spend all rental revenue running the business. The more customers we get, the more "extra money" we have to buy more gear which full-circle benefits the people making requests for stuff we don't yet have.

First started in 2007, Lens Lenders remains the first and oldest Internet mail-delivery lens rental company in Canada. We grow a tiny amount every year. You can help us continue.

Shipping changes

All rentals will now be shipped with a "card for pickup" requirement. This means that Canada Post will deliver the package to your neighbourhood postal outlet and leave a card in your mailbox to pick up the item. You will need to take the pickup card and your ID to your postal outlet to receive the rental.
