The Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM IS II is a high-power, high-performance, USM autofocus, L-class, telephoto zoom lens with IS image stabilization. Announced by Canon in January 2010, this version II lens improves on the original 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM IS with a list of improvements; optical performance has been enhanced, autofocus speed increased, minimum focus distance reduced to 1.2 meters and image stabilization improved.
The 70-200mm focal length is ideal for mid-range and long-range subjects, including portraits. With a fast f/2.8 aperture, USM autofocus and IS image stabilization, this lens is well suited to photography of active subjects in available-light such as sports, stage events and nature. This lens is compatible with the Canon EF1.4x II and EF2.0x II extenders.
Fast Aperture: The large aperture of this lens helps give you fast shutter speeds in available light and excellent depth-of-field control.
USM: Canon USM ultrasonic autofocus is faster and quieter than mechanical autofocus systems.
IS: Canon IS image stabilization helps to steady your pictures and reduce blur from camera shake.
